What I do

Everything your
home runs on.

Residential electrical across Rodney. If it is wired into your house, it is probably something I can help with.

  1. Residential electrical

Day-to-day electrical work for your home, big or small, done tidily and tested before I leave.

  2. New builds

Full electrical for new homes: planning the layout with you and your builder, rough-in, fit-off and testing.

  3. Renovations

Kitchens, bathrooms, extensions and alterations, including moving or adding circuits as the job changes.

  4. Switchboard upgrades

Replacing tired or full switchboards with modern boards that have room for what you run today.

  5. Lighting

Downlights, pendants, outdoor and feature lighting, planned so each room works the way you use it.

  6. Power points

New and relocated power points, double outlets, USB combos and weatherproof outdoor sockets.

  7. Fault finding

Tripping switches, dead circuits, flickering lights: tracked down methodically, then fixed.

  8. Repairs

Damaged fittings, cables and switches repaired or replaced safely, without fuss.

  9. Maintenance

Ongoing work for homeowners, landlords and property managers, with clear invoices.

In more detail

The jobs I do
most often.

Circuit breakers and neatly terminated blue wiring inside a switchboard

Switchboard upgrades

Older boards were not built for heat pumps, induction cooktops, EV chargers or solar. An upgrade gives you modern protection and space to add circuits later.

  • Modern circuit protection
  • Neat, labelled circuits
  • Room for future additions
  • Tested, with the paperwork the job requires

New builds & renovations

Getting the wiring right while the walls are open saves a lot of hassle later. I work with you and your builder on where things go, then keep to the programme.

  • Layout planning with you and your builder
  • Rough-in and fit-off
  • Kitchens, bathrooms and extensions
  • Alterations to existing wiring
Modern kitchen lit by a row of pendant lights above the island bench

Lighting & power points

Good lighting changes how a room feels, and power points in the right places save a lot of extension leads.

  • Downlights, pendants and feature lighting
  • Outdoor and security lighting
  • Extra and relocated power points
  • USB combo and outdoor weatherproof outlets
A clamp meter and test leads resting on electrical cables

Fault finding & repairs

When something trips, flickers or stops working, I find the cause rather than guess at it, explain what is going on, then fix it.

  • Tripping RCDs and breakers
  • Dead or intermittent circuits
  • Damaged cables and fittings
  • Repairs and like-for-like replacements

How a job runs

Simple from
start to finish.

  1. Get in touch

Call, email or send the form with a quick description of the job. Photos help.

  2. Look & quote

For anything more than a quick fix, I come out, take a look and give you a clear quote.

  3. Do the work

Booked in, on time, with cables run properly and the site kept tidy as I go.

  4. Test & sign off

Everything is tested before I leave, with the compliance paperwork the job requires.
